Hospital Flowers – Get Well Flowers

With scientific evidence proving that flowers can positively affect the mood and spirit of a recipient, Get Well flower arrangements are a great way to offer comfort during patient’s hospital stay. Get well flowers make a patient feel cherished – something that can help while they recover.

Most arrangements for hospitals are composed of flowers that can withstand the environment of such a building. That’s right: your local florist, drawing from their professional expertise, creates arrangements that are suited for the warmer, somewhat stuffier atmosphere of the hospital. Flowers that are good as a Get Well gift include lilies, wax flowers, mums, carnations, and cymbidium orchids, as these blooms don’t perish as easily. To complete the bouquet, green touches of eucalyptus and leatherleaf are ideal. Hospital environments aren’t very hospitable to flowers that thrive in cooler temperatures, such as traditional spring blooms like tulips and daffodils, so it’s best to stay away from those unless they’re recovering at home. And remember: a warmer environment makes flowers quite thirsty, so make sure that they have plenty of water.

Another important aspect to consider is the container in which the Get Well flowers are arranged. Don’t give something that isn’t set in a container with water, because then a container will be needed to put the flowers in (and where is the patient going to get that?) Since space is limited and people need to move around the room freely, stable, flat bottomed containers are best. You don’t want something that could easily tip over, so choose something that’s sturdy as well.
